Weight Loss Methods Of Daily Calorie Intake

It is inevitable that you are dreaming of achieving it. You are really trying to shed some fats that are stored in your body. But what is weight loss anyway? Let us try to find out.

Whether you are to struggling lose 5 pounds or vying to shed 50 pounds, the same rule applies to both. That the same concept will be the base of how much weight you can afford to lose and how fast it will come about. Our body weight is dictated by the quantity of food that we ate everyday, which will be converted into energy by some metabolic processes. Part of that energy from the food we eat will be used for us to perform our daily activities and the remaining part will be stored in the body as fat. This stored energy will be used for strenuous activities that will require you to exert effort and strength.

The energy that is converted from the food we eat is usually measured in calories. If your calorie intake is just equal to the calorie you used for physical activities, then your weight will certainly remain constant. If your calorie intake is more than your calorie requirement for activities, then that energy will be stored as fat and that fat is the reason behind your weight gain. If the opposite happens, which means that your calorie requirement exceeds your calorie intake, weight loss is the consequence.

What’s interesting about this is that you have the control of your calorie intake by, of course, controlling your food intake and choosing the right food. You can also control your energy output by engaging to activities that will require you to exert strength, thus expending energy. The amount of calories that we spend each day is dependent on the following: (1) basal metabolic rate (BMR) and (2) intensity of physical activity.

Basal metabolic rate is the amount of calories we burn per hour just to perform our bodily functions, involuntary process, and maintenance just enough to keep us alive and well. Intensity of physical activity on the other hand, is your lifestyle, movement habits, and daily activities that will determine the amount of energy required for you to perform.

There are cases for some people that their BMR, sometimes called as resting metabolic rate, is slightly higher or lower than average. For those who have lower BMR, weight loss is to some extent, hard to achieve. If you are in this type, exercise and activities that require movement is suitable for you might gain weight easily. For those who have higher BMR, may be hereditary, you are lucky because you will not gain weight easily.

As for the lifestyle, your job for example, will determine how much calories you expended in a day. It is self explanatory that when you have a sedentary job, those who sit at the desk the whole day, weight gain will likely be unavoidable. If your job demands frequent movement and exertion of force, it is most likely that you burn a lot of calories in a day. Since weight loss is most likely to happen, you might want to consider eating foods loaded with calories. If you wanted to lose weight, then you don’t have to find another way.
