Advantages of calculating BMI

Though it is not the most accurate measure of how much body fat you have or how much fat you are but on the other hand it is the easiest and least expensive way to measure it. Actually there are different ways of calculating your BMI depending on the type of measurements you have taken. Here you will be known about the easiest and most effective ways.


Before you get started make sure that you know your current height and weight and then try calculating your BMI. BMI might be a good course of action for assessing and adjusting your weight if you know it. So, let’s get started.


Formula for calculating BMI:


                              BMI = Weight (In kg) / Height (In meter2)                                        


  • Measure your height in meters and square the number.

First of all make sure that you know your height then you will need to multiply your height in meters by itself first which means you have to square your height.

For example,

Let you are 1.75 meters tall, then you would multiply 1.75 by 1.75 and get a result of approximately 3.06.


  • Take your weight in kilograms then divide it by meters squared. 

Second, make sure you will know your current weight then you will need to divide your weight in kilograms (KG) by your height in meters squared.

For example,

Let your weight is 75 kilograms and your height in meters squared is 3.06 what we assume in previous paragraph then you would divide 75 by 3.06 for an answer of 24.5 as your BMI.

If your BMI is among 18.5 to 24.9 then you are safe which means that your weight is normal with respect to your height. If your BMI is above 24.9 then your weight is not normal in that case you have to lose your weight to be keep your body fit.
